Before & After The Grey, There's Play

You have seen pictures of Ayden playing with his three favorite toys, but playtime involves a lot of other activities as well. For instance, sometimes Ayden watches Baby Einstein videos. I am always amazed at his capacity to concentrate on a thirty minute video at such a young age. Ayden likes other television shows as well; after his cardiac arrest, a PCCU nurse introduced him to cartoons.

You saw from Ayden's first pediatrician visit that Ayden enjoys looking at himself in the mirror. Bryan and I often use the mirror as a device to entertain our little boy. It's especially useful for calming Ayden while he has the hiccups. Ayden recently detected the mirror (and the toy) on his giraffe swing carrier.

One of the most amazing blessings about being at home with Ayden is being able to observe his discoveries. In the following three videos, you can watch the progression of his awareness of how to interact with the toys in his pack & play.
