Glenn Update #1: Go with God, Ayden. (And with Frank.)

At approximately 8 a.m., we handed Ayden over to the doctors, who then carried him into the OR to transfer him into the able hands of Dr. Bichell.  Frank made the trip with him, so Ayden isn't alone.  His Glenn has now officially begun.  Of course, I will provide updates throughout the morning.  The total expected time is about 5-6 hours from start to finish.

Yesterday was Ayden's pre-op clinic visit.  We arrived at 9:15 in the morning and did not leave for home until about 3:30 in the afternoon.  Needless to say, that was quite a gauntlet of a clinic visit - blood pressures, EKG, blood drawing (ugh), x-rays, meeting with Dr. Bichell, etc.  As you can see, Ayden was not a happy camper:

"I am not a fan of the 6 hour clinic visits."
"What do you mean Anna has moved away and won't be here to take care of me???"

This morning also involved quite a wait.  We got here at 5:30, went back to the "holding area" at 6:30, and handed him over at 8.  We are already exhausted and the day hasn't even really begun.  At least Ayden got some sleep while we waited:

  1. Bryan and Allison,
We have never met but to me you and sweet Ayden are my dear friends. I have been following your blog for months after I received the link in an email from a prayer group. I wanted to let you know that my family and friends are keeping Ayden in our prayers. The Lord will care for you little one, as no one knows better than you. Watching him grow through your blog has been such a blessing to me.
