Bryan and I received an envelope in the mail recently. The contents of the package--letters from five of my former seventh graders and three checks-- made me crumble with emotion.
Casey, Jessi, Maycie, Allyson, and Rachel went out into a neighborhood selling cookies and muffins at a dollar apiece for Ayden. When the girls shared our little one's journey, people who had never before heard of our son (or us) contributed more than the dollar amount.
I am so overwhelmed by the fact that these girls would spend time at the end of their summer collectively loving on us! AND it's the second time they have done something like this!
I am so touched that these girls continue to keep Ayden and our family in their thoughts and prayers and that they are actively expressing their care.
I am so grateful for the generosity of those that know us and those that don't.
I am so humbled by the fact that God has used Ayden's miracle life to teach all of us more about Him.
Girls, you have cemented a very special memory in the life of our son. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if I could have seen you all to give you hugs! I look forward to the day that you five can meet Ayden! I wish you a blessed eighth grade year!
P.S.
If Ayden knew better, he would appreciate the cookie idea. Food seems appropriate for our chubby cheeked little man!
What wonderful young ladies to have in your life!
