Lungs and Such

Our little buddy has been on room air since noon yesterday, and he is maintaining his sats. His chest x-rays on Saturday and Sunday were essentially clear. The doctors started him on a diuretic regiment that they are hoping he can go home on. They are taking another chest x-ray in the morning to see how his lungs are responding to the new doses.

In the background of the respiratory issues, the doctors have restarted Ayden's sedative taper and added Enalapril (works to decrease certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, so blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently) and Digoxin (helps the heart to beat stronger). They did an ECHO today to continue to monitor Ayden's heart wall motion (i.e. squeeze), his leaky tricuspid valve, and his overall heart condition.
