The visit to the pediatrician went fine. Ayden hardly knew he was at the doctor. He talked and played the entire time. Dr. Hood carved out a significant portion of her day to talk to us, and for that we are grateful. She said that his growth continues to be fine. She did not change his formula. She encouraged us to continue to shorten his feeding boluses (currently, Ayden is at 25 minutes) with the intent of working him toward an age appropriate feeding schedule. We spent a large portion of our time discussing Ayden's reflux and whether or not we were going to take measures to investigate that situation with GI at Vanderbilt. Bryan and I are still undecided, and we would appreciate prayers with that regard.
We had a fabulous evening. We played with Ayden, bathed him, and fed him... I mean, actually fed him. He took 20ml from the bottle... and then this morning, he went back to his daily refusal. I think evening feeds go better because he doesn't focus so much on what he is doing; he just does it naturally. I try distracting him during the daytime trials, but the only success I meet with is getting the bottle in his mouth. I am looking more and more forward to next week's feeding therapy!
